Olympus Team Sports School Info
Olympus Team Sports School will be a new independent school opening in Calgary for the 2010/2011 school year. We will be registering 26 grade 4 students in the first year and adding a new grade in each succeeding year.
At this point we are waiting for accreditation from Alberta Education.
However, we will be in need of a teacher certified in Alberta with experience coaching one of the core sports to join our team. It is an exciting opportunity to help design and create an educational environment while serving a passion to sport. French instruction will be highly valued both in the classroom and in the coaching environment.
The Olympus Team Sport School has an exciting multi-sport and educational philosophy for students and teachers. The students will begin training full time in the core sports of basketball, volleyball and water polo.
Daily yoga, pilates, dance and martial arts will also be integrated into the schedule.
The Olympus educational philosophy aims to engage students in their learning through collaborative learning design, meaningful project work worthy of the students' time, relationship building in the community and applying the provincial curriculum in the sport training
